I wanted to share these watercolours with you, which Claire Marriott painted on a recent trip to Aquitaine. Each deliberately naïve painting has a small stone woven in between the colours. You can see the rest of Claire's lovely watercolours here. Has anyone else combined their small stones with images?
And I also wanted to share a special river-of-stones blog with you, from our youngest river participant (as far as I know!) Stuart at Pebble Finder. Writing small stones is a family affair, as his mum Josephine (Pebbleorium) and his sister Willow (Searching for Secret Passageways) also have beautiful blogs. I'll leave you with a few of Stuart's small stones - enjoy! And keep writing...

We stop at a restroom.
I wash my hands in the sink.

I don't feel too good any more.
yes I have its alovely way of illustrating your words. I love this watercolour ...so simple and just lovely!
ReplyDeleteClaire's work is simply beautiful, and as for young Pebble Finder - I found this page a few days ago and was amazed at the maturity displayed.
ReplyDeleteI like the paintings. And yes, I've started combining my small stones with my partner's photography. We're producing gift cards that are a card and present in one. Words by me, photo by Jon. A card to celebrate a birthday and a picture to hang on the wall. It's working so far so I'm wondering if there's a market for it somewhere!
ReplyDeletegood one..best wishes:)

ReplyDeleteVery lovely paintings. I collected a few stones a few months ago and wrote my favorite sayings on them and modge podged them. I should use them in some still life photography sometime to put on my blog.
